In a collision between a coal-laden lorry and a brick-laden lorry at the Vaidyabati Galirangi Delhi Road junction in Hooghly, four people have been injured.
The incident took place on Thursday evening, and the police reached the spot immediately after the accident. The injured were rescued and rushed to the hospital for medical treatment.
The front part of the lorry that was loaded with bricks has been completely damaged due to the impact of the collision. The coal lorry overturned on Delhi Road after the accident, causing traffic congestion in the area. The Piarapur Chowki police reached the spot and cleared the road with the help of a crane.
According to local sources, the brick lorry was heading towards Chandannagar while the other lorry was traveling towards Bhadreshwar from Dankuni. The cause of the accident is yet to be determined by the police.
